GET INVOLVED. STOP AT NOTHING. THE WORLD MUST KNOW.

I dare you to stop scrolling through your dashboard. Stop checking your Facebook newsfeed that you’ve already checked two seconds ago. Stop updating your Twitter and seeing what your favorite celebrities are saying. Stop watching funny and nonsense videos on Youtube. Take time to educate yourself to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in this world. This is your chance! WATCH THIS VIDEO.

Let’s make JOSEPH KONY Famous!!

Who is JOSEPH KONY?

He is THE WORST LIVING CRIMINAL. He abducts children and makes them use guns to kill their own parents. He takes girls and forces them to be sex slaves. He calls his abducted children the Lord’s Resistance Army, AKA the LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and forced them to be child soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is INVISIBLE to the world. FEW know his name, even FEWER know his crimes. WE ARE MAKING HIM FAMOUS! Because when he is, the world will unite against him and demand his arrest.

We can help make a change. We can make a difference.

I feel so inspired. I feel the need to help and make a difference. This has to happen in 2012. We can’t let him go around and keep doing this to children in Central Africa. Let’s make his name known so he can be stopped. HE CAN NO LONGER BE INVISIBLE!

A Star is Born

I never thought I would write one of these post, but I am and I have to make sure that I write this with tact.

Presently it seems that there is no substance of value in programing today. Nearly every television show, every movie lacks ideals to stand by. I’m not talking about heavy handed ideals or morals but simple one’s like finding faith in yourself, helping those in need. Working hard to find where you belong.

Take Disney’s Mulan for example, sure it’s historically incorrect, but that’s not the point. It was about not letting anyone stop you from doing the right thing. In Mulan’s case defending her family and not listening to some silly gender law. As a result, she saved entire China. Maybe she didnt actually do this historically, but the message is still convayed to the viewer. Anything is possible when you do the right thing, you can save your family, you can even save nations.

I admire that. I think you can appreciate it too.

Where is that nowadays? Am I missing it on today’s programing? 15 years ago there were a little more ethics involved in storytelling.

There’s Hercules for instance. A personal favorite of mine. Young Hercules longs for a place to belong. He has his own soliloquy saying “I’ll be there someday, I can go the distance. I will find my way if I can be strong. I know every mile will be worth my while.”

He’s willing to work hard to get to his goal. He knows its going to hard, trials always are. I’ll admit that I give that song a listen when I feel at giving up at anything. Maybe its childish or may maybe its a very real ideal I can draw inspiration from. To always keep trying, that I can reach my ambitions if I work hard enough.

Take a look at the last 50 words of that movie:

“Just remember in the darkest hour, within your heart’s the power for making you a hero too. So don’t lose hope when you’re forlorn. Just keep your eyes upon the skies. Every night a star is, right in sight, a star is burning bright a star is born.”

The very last words to the audience was bluntly that you too can be a hero, all you need is to just have faith in yourself. They were literally taking directly to the audience, as if that was the thesis of the entire film.

They just dont write messages like that.

We presently live amidst a self-gratifying, inebriating movement, with every individual trying to better themselves for selfish gains all the while working as little as possible to get there. What do we have now? Jersey Shore? Twilight? Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked?

-___-     oh brother….

We need a new champion, someone who can give us all something to believe in again.

Final Thoughts: Okay, my rant is done and never again will I speak of this.

Right Now: I’m listening to ”I Can Go the Distance (Reprise) By Roger Bart

Go for it bro
